Market bears are calling this 10-year-old #bullmarket an “everything bubble.” The 1st was the dot com bubble that burst in 2000, followed by the housing bubble. The current run-up is blamed on central bank profligacy leading to the TINA trade & egged on by share buybacks. But if we take a step back and compare the #inflation-adjusted total return for the #SP500 against its long-term trend since 1871, we see that currently the #market is only 10% above its trend line. At previous bubble tops, the market was about 100% above this trend line.
